You have been invited to the D.C. Sentencing Commission’s two-part 2026 D.C. Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines Training Series.
It is important to note that you do not have to attend both events.
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 1 PM, join the agency for the first part of the Commission’s two-part series, Adult Felony Sentencing 101! This series will provide attendees with an interactive presentation that covers how adult felony sentencing works in the District, as well as the factors judges consider when imposing a felony sentence in D.C. Superior Court. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the agency’s General Counsel, Maeghan Buckley, questions throughout the presentation.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1 PM, join the Commission for the second part of the agency’s two-part series, Guidelines 101 Training. This training will provide attendees with an overview of the new Guidelines Manual as well as a high-level synopsis of how the Manual operates in the District. This interactive presentation will offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions throughout the presentation.
This presentation is open to community leaders, students, criminal justice practitioners, community members, and anyone interested in learning more about how adult sentencing works in the District as well as the 2026 D.C. Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines. Individuals who are not as familiar with adult felony sentencing in the District are encouraged to join both parts of the two-part series.
