The Sentencing Commission has just released a new “Fast Facts” focused on Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (ADW) offenses sentenced in the District of Columbia. Fast Facts are intended to provide interested parties and the general public a quick overview of sentencing trends for specific offenses. It includes sentencing trends, demographic information and Guideline compliance rates for ADW. The Commission is hopeful that sharing information on sentencing trends within the District will help inform, as well as educate, the public about current sentencing practices under the District’s Sentencing Guidelines.
