The Sentencing Commission is releasing a new Issue Paper entitled: “Guidelines Compliant Sentences in DC”. When the recommended Guidelines sentence (both type and length) is imposed, that sentence is deemed to be “Guideline Compliant”. This paper identifies, describes, and provides examples for the four types of Guidelines compliant sentences and highlights sentencing trends for Guidelines compliant sentences.
