FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – The D.C. Sentencing Commission’s membership has selected Jonathan Alvarez- Martinez’s design as the winner of the agency’s Logo Competition for youth and emerging adults.

During the agency’s September Meeting, members voted to adopt a new Commission logo based on Mr. Alvarez- Martinez’s submission.

The Commission’s Executive Director, Linden Fry, applaud Jonathan’s work by saying “Mr. Alvarez-Maerinez’s design is thoughtful, represents the District of Columbia, and will serve the Commission well.”

Mr.  Alvarez- Martinez is a 2025 Coolidge High School graduate. While at Coolidge, Jonathan loved art and math. Mr. Alvarez- Martinez was also a part of Coolidge’s soccer team, which won a championship in 2024. Post graduation, he is studying interior design at Montgomery County Community College and plans to merge his degree with his experience of working in the restaurant and retail industry.

The Commission will begin using the logo on all public facing documents moving forward.
