Patrick Sheehan

Patrick Sheehan joined the D.C. Sentencing Commission as a Statistician in December 2025. As the Commission’s Statistician, Patrick applies his knowledge of statistics and quantitative methods to the Commission’s data to answer research questions about sentencing trends and outcomes. Prior to joining the Commission, Patrick worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, where he contributed to applied research as a statistical consultant and helped develop novel statistical and quantitative research methods for the social sciences as part of his PhD. He earned a BA in Psychology from the George Washington University in 2016 and a MA in Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation from UMD in 2020, where he is currently finishing a PhD in the same program.
