Description: This new and informative class provides an introduction to the D.C. Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines. This class will cover the sentencing guidelines for new criminal law practitioners and will also serve as a refresher for those who have been practicing criminal law. Those who attend will learn about the application of the guidelines, how to locate the Offense Severity Group, how to calculate a defendant’s criminal history score, how to determine the in-the-box guidelines recommendation, and other special rules.
