Commission Meetings
The public is encouraged to join to attend the Commission's Monthly Meetings. Our monthly meetings are hosted every third Tuesday from 5 PM – 6:30 PM. During these meetings, Commission members examine sentencing policy in the District and implement changes based on District-based research and data. In an effort to expand the Commission’s educational resources to the general public as well as criminal justice practitioners, the agency has started to engage on our social media platforms. Educational Videos
The Commission has extended its educational outreach to include educational videos. These videos encompass a wide array of topics such as the history of the Commission, the function of the D.C. Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines, and frequently asked questions. Click here to view.
Newsletter
In order to engage with District residents, the Commission disperses biannual newsletters. The agency’s newsletters highlight the resources the Commission offers as well as the recent activity of the Commission. It is the goal of the Sentencing Commission to increase awareness throughout the District of the functions of the Sentencing Guidelines, and the current work of the Commission.
