With the start of a new year, the Sentencing and Criminal Code Revision Commission welcomes two new members: William R. Martin, Esq. and The Honorable Kenyan McDuffie.  Mr. Martin joins the Commission as a voting member appointed by District of Columbia Superior Court Chief Judge Lee Satterfield.  As the Chairman of the D.C. Council, Committee on the Judiciary, Mr. McDuffie will serve as a non-voting member.

The Commission would also like to express a  special thanks to Michele Roberts, Esq., whom Mr. Martin will replace.  As an attorney and Commission member, Ms. Roberts played a pivotal role in the creation, implementation, and evolution of the Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines.   Her expertise in sentencing law and policy has been essential to the Commission and the citizens of the District of Columbia.  The Commission wishes her well in her new endeavors.
