The Sentencing Commission has made non-substantive revisions to Chapter 6 of the 2023 D.C. Voluntary Sentencing Guidelines Manual to clarify the rules regarding consecutive and concurrent sentences.

Sentencing Data

The Commission uses the Guidelines Reporting Information Data system to store and monitor felony sentences. The data and charts presented on this page uses the data in this system.

DC Sentencing Commission: Issue Paper

The DC Sentencing Commission is proud to release its first “Issue Paper” which examines Compliant in the Box sentences imposed under the Sentencing Guidelines.   Issue Papers are intended to provide criminal justice partners and the general public with an overview of specific sentencing provisions under the District’s Sentencing Guidelines.  Compliant in the Box sentences represent sentences that comply with both the Guidelines recommended sentence type and length for a specific offense and serves as a measure to identify how consistently the Guidelines are
